The Drop-In

Tips

It might be 5:30 on a Friday night and friends have called to say they are dropping in, maybe the movie just sold out or you just landed a promotion and want to celebrate. Whatever the reason, here are some tips to make impromptu entertaining stress free…

  • Make sure you always have some staples on hand (refer to our impromptu entertaining checklist below) including South Cape cheeses and crispbreads to accommodate last minute guests
  • Put on some music and offer your guests a drink
  • Create a cheese platter and join them for some good conversation
  • For an impromptu meal consider a delicious bowl of pasta served with a salad. South Cape Persian Fetta is ideal tossed through warm pasta with some olives and fresh or sun-dried tomatoes. Serve with a crisp green salad.

Impromptu entertaining checklist

  • Pasta is easy, quick and versatile so always keep an extra packet in the pantry.
  • Other basics include balsamic vinegar, olive oil, South Cape Parmesan Cheese, olives, jars of sun-dried tomato and pesto.
  • Always keep a tub of South Cape Persian Fetta in the fridge ‘on the ready’; it’s so versatile and can be used in a myriad of ways.
  • Keep some South Cape Cheese Twists in the pantry – they are great eaten on their own and delicious when served with antipasto or dips.
  • Dried fruit like dates, muscatels and apricots are great to have on stand-by and delicious when served with a selection of South Cape cheeses.

Cheesy Bits

Create a cheese platter for your guests with a wedge of South Cape Edam, a wheel of South Cape Brie or Camembert and a piece of South Cape Blue. Serve with slices of fresh crisp apple, a small bowl of South Cape Fig Paste and South Cape Pepper and Sesame Crispbreads.
